Classes are £3.75 per session for 55 minute classes and £3.25 per session for 40 minute classes. Check out our Special Offers and discounts though for some great savings on classes.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I ATTEND?

We would recommend attending Legs, Bums & Tums alongside one other toning session per week, (e.g. Body Balance, Pilates or Body Pump), plus some cardio work such as Body Attack, Body Attack Challenge, Body Combat, Body Fit, Boxercise or Zumba.

WHEN WILL I NOTICE RESULTS?

Once you’ve started Legs, Bums and Tums classes your nerves will soon get better at telling your muscles what to do. Your muscles, with their tendons and insertions, adapt more slowly. But you’ll notice strength gains quite quickly. After about six weeks you should feel great! As your strength improves you’ll start to see fat loss and improved muscle tone.

legs, bums and tums... WHAT'S THAT?

The simplicity of the class makes Legs, Bums & Tums a great starting point to develop strength and confidence, so fab for beginners. Hot sounds and compelling choreography keep you going through each workout. A new Legs, Bums & Tums class is released every three months with new music and choreography.

SO DESCRIBE A TYPICAL CLASS

This is a group fitness class with a little aerobics. You’ll use a variety of different equipment form week to week, including bands, tubes, weights, steps, balls, mats etc.
Warm-up - This is to get your entire body moving and ready for the work to come.
Aerobic Prep - This section of the class will take you through an increasing range of moves and foot strikes, preparing the body for the aerobic action ahead.
Aerobic Section - Step up the intensity and range of movement and get into your personal training “zone”
Lower Body Conditioning - Focus on strengthening, shaping and toning the hips, thighs and buttocks for ultra fast results
Abdominals - To help support and strengthen your core and flatten the tummy area
Stretch - This is vital after a hard workout to stretch your muscles. You’ll increase your flexibility and reduce any risk of muscle soreness or injury.

HOW DO I DO legs, bums and tums SAFELY?

Your teacher is there to make sure you do everything correctly, but try to remember:

  • Good posture is the foundation of all exercise.
  • Focus on learning the right technique at the beginning.
  • Work continuously at perfecting your technique.
  • Perform the movements with control – smooth actions, not jerky.
  • Always keep your joints slightly bent, don’t lock out your arms or legs.
  • Listen to your body, it will tell you if something is not right.
  • Legs Bums and Tums should feel challenging, but at any time you need to take a rest, that’s fine!

Some muscle pain is natural at first, especially if it’s the same on both sides of your body. This is muscle soreness. Muscle soreness is typical when starting out on a training programme and normally occurs 24 to 48 hours after exercise. If you have pain down only one side or in the joints, check with the teacher. If the pain continues, see your doctor.

legs, bums and tums TESTIMONIAL

"Having never exercised since I was at school, Rachael recommended that I ease myself into exercise by attending Legs, Bums & Tums. I wanted to exercise as I had gained over 3 stone since having my children and was desperate to lose weight.

I managed to persuade a friend to come along with me as I felt really nervous about going along on my own, but I was surprised at how relaxed the class was. The teacher was really friendly and I found the class really enjoyable.

After 3 weeks I decided to take advantage of the 3 for 2 offer, so I also attended Body Step and Body Combat as well.

I now attend Body Step, Body Attack, Bums & Tums, Pilates, Body Combat and Body Balance. I also cycle 3 times per week and go jogging on a weekend.

I started the classes on 7th January 2008, and when I went on holiday on 27th July 2008, weighing in at 2 stone 5 lbs lighter, wearing a size 12 bikini!

I never thought that going along to the Legs, Bums and Tums classes back in January would change my life as much as it has. So a big thank you to Rachael and her team of instructors for helping me."
Zoe. Age 28 years from Marske.
